AI for Safer Children Global Hub

In 2020, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) Center for AI and Robotics, in partnership with the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, launched the AI for Safer Children initiative to address the massive surge in child exploitation around the world.  The initiative seeks to build the capacity of law enforcement worldwide to leverage innovative AI solutions in combatting child exploitation.

In 2022, the initiative created the AI for Safer Children Global Hub which allows for training, collaboration, and information sharing among law enforcement officials from more than 100 UN members nations.  The AI for Safer Children Global Hub also contains the AI Tools Catalog where AI-based software utilized to combat child exploitation can be located for procurement by officials from UN member nations.
